Rockville, MD, Additions & Renovation - $175,000
Anthony came to Merrick after starting a remodel with another contractor. As an expectant father, he had a deadline and wanted a contractor who could to meet it.
Merrick worked with him to redesign the original vision. Even with the change in contractors, we were able to stay on budget. This remodel required a large mudroom/laundry, a new kitchen, and a master bathroom. In addition, he wanted to spruce up much of the existing home. Anthony wanted to open the layout without losing the sense of defined spaces. We did all of that and include a powder room too!
First, we installed white CandleLight Cabinets in the kitchen and master bathroom to lighten up the spaces. The white quartz countertops are not just beautiful but durable and antibacterial too. Our team opened the existing dining room to the kitchen and foyer. We added two large cased openings to create the feeling of open space without sacrificing separation. Next, the floors on the were replaced with wood to match the rest of the house. Finally, the entire home got a new coat of paint.
In the end, Anthony gave his family a beautifully finished home that exceeded his expectations.

A: It was an easy decision. One of the five interviewees indicated our project wasn’t the typical job in their portfolio and suggested we reach out to Merrick Design and Build. Unbeknownst to him, Merrick was one of the five firms on our list. Hearing such positive remarks about Merrick from a competitor made the decision clear for us.
