NW, Washington, DC, - $160,000
Kate needed to renovate her classic DC row house so it would function better for her growing family. Like so many DC row houses, Kate’s home was tight and closed off.
The first floor was comprised of several disjointed small rooms. Kate knew she wanted better sightlines but was not sure how to achieve that while maintaining the character of her DC row house. She came to Merrick looking for the solution.
We opened up her living space by converting three rooms into one large great room. We installed new trim to bring the spaces together so they would feel original. Then undertook the huge task of carefully exposing the brick wall adding warmth and character to the space. The millwork on the stairs adds even more charm. Finally, a rooftop deck was also added for more outdoor space.
