As founder of Merrick Design and Build, David is passionate about Design-Build and has been building things since he was a small boy. David knew he wanted to be a Design-Build contractor when he was attending the Boston Architectural Center. Design-Build as an industry did not exist but David knew then it was the best way to deliver state-of-the-art, technologically sound, artistic, well-planned residential remodeling services. Today Merrick Design and Build is an established, nationally recognized leader in this industry.
David is the Father of three beautiful girls. The oldest, Addie, has been a member of the Merrick Design and Build, Inc. team since 2010. Isabel, a graduate of the University of Florida, and Emma, from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, are both following in their mother’s footsteps and are working in special education. David is immensely proud of the achievements of all three children. His wife, Lu is the Director of the Post High School program at The Ivymount School. David and Lu have been residents of Kensington since 1986 and love their community.
