Erick and Bethany wanted to replace their hot, uncovered wood deck with a cooler, more functional outdoor space. Merrick Design and Build delivered a larger Trex Transcend deck, a screened-in porch with a flat roof for extra headroom, and split-level stairs with an open grill landing. Custom PVC trim, spruce tongue-and-groove ceilings, Velux skylights, and an app-controlled Hue light strip create a polished, modern retreat. Engineered framing eliminated center posts, opening up the space below and ensuring a rock-solid, wobble-free structure. The new porch now sits flush with the home’s interior floor, making indoor-outdoor living seamless and comfortable.
