Scot & Metri had worked with Merrick previously, so when they purchased this new home in Spring Valley just prior to lockdown in 2020, they already had a contractor they knew they enjoyed working with.

Scot started dreaming about a new outdoor escape at a time when we couldn’t leave our homes. When it came time to finally work on designs for their second outdoor living space, Merrick was so happy to receive their phone call.

Together we designed a vaulted, screened-in porch, with 8-foot wide double barn doors out to a circular patio and fire pit. The space became the perfect outdoor retreat for Scot and Metri — both in lockdown and in post-lockdown times. A balance functionality, aesthetics, and budget considerations, it is now one of their most favorite parts of their home.
