A family heirloom, this 1920s arts and crafts style bungalow has been passed down from generation to generation in Jarid’s family. When he contacted Merrick, Jarid made sure we understood it was essential to him that we update his home without destroying the character he grew up loving. Other issues that needed to be addressed included fire damage on the first floor and a leak in the back addition.
The main focus of this project was to create an open style floor plan. We also updated the kitchen, adding more storage, countertop space, and bringing in professional-style appliances, as Jarid is an avid cook. This remodel was able weave in some modern flourishes while not compromising on the homeowners’ preferred traditional style.
