Scot & Metri, returning clients, came to us with a vision for a modernized kitchen that better suited their lifestyle. While their vacation homes boasted updated designs, their primary residence felt outdated and no longer met their needs. With two growing children and a passion for cooking, they needed a functional, aesthetically pleasing space that could accommodate their evolving needs.
Challenges & Goals:
The existing kitchen had a major design flaw: the cooktop and exhaust hood were positioned in the middle of the island, consuming valuable counter space. Given that the family enjoys both cooking and gathering around the kitchen island, it was essential to create a more practical layout.

Additionally, the aesthetic inspiration for the entire space came from a gold Kohler faucet and red Wolf range knobs, two standout details that needed to be seamlessly integrated into the design.
Design & Craftsmanship:
One of the key elements of this renovation was the inclusion of three distinct colors green, off-white, and walnut. Ensuring these tones blended effortlessly required a careful balance of materials and finishes.

We faced a challenge with varying ceiling and bulkhead heights, which required us to carefully design around those differences while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic and showcasing our craftsmanship through our designed bulkheads and crown molding.

Customization & Functionality:
Opting for custom cabinetry was a game-changer for this project. It allowed us to tailor every cabinet to the family’s unique needs, ensuring efficient storage and organization. A standout features they particularly love is the peg drawer system, designed specifically for storing their non-standard-sized plates.
