Originally built as a “streetcar suburb,” Chevy Chase is the perfect home for commuters to both D.C. and neighboring Bethesda. With a small population of around 10,000, the town is predominantly residential and a walker’s paradise. It is considered one of the best places to live and retire in Maryland.
Chevy Chase is home to many top-rated schools, as are most places in Montgomery County School District. It also has a 40-acre bird sanctuary, the Audubon Naturalist Society Woodend Sanctuary, in the heart of Chevy Chase, as well as Chevy Chase Country Club in the Village, and Meadowbrook Park with lots of trails. With ample access to entertainment, shops, and restaurants, Chevy Chase is the perfect place to escape the city but still have access to the city’s amenities.
